Delivery Coverage
We deliver throughout the United Kingdom. Delivery is included in your quoted price for the following areas:
- England, Wales, and mainland Scotland
Additional charges may apply for:
- Scottish Highlands and Islands
- Northern Ireland
- Isle of Man, Channel Islands
- International delivery (available on request — please enquire)
White-Glove Delivery Service
All Montalvi furniture is delivered by our specialist white-glove team, not a standard parcel courier. This means:
- We contact you at least 48 hours before delivery to arrange a convenient date and two-hour arrival window.
- Our team brings the furniture into the room of your choice (ground floor or upper floors where access permits).
- Where flat-pack delivery is chosen, our team can position the boxes in your specified room.
- Where fully assembled delivery is chosen, our team place the furniture, carry out a final quality inspection with you, and remove all packaging.
- Our team will not connect any electrical components (e.g. LED fittings, electronic latches) — please have a qualified electrician or the relevant trade present if required.
Preparing for Delivery
To ensure a smooth delivery, please:
- Measure all doorways, staircases, corridors, and lift dimensions before confirming your order. We can provide exact carcass dimensions on request. If a piece cannot be delivered due to access constraints, any re-manufacturing or disassembly costs are the Customer's responsibility.
- Ensure the delivery area is clear and the floor is protected where required.
- Ensure someone authorised is present to inspect and sign for the Goods.
- Inform us of any access restrictions (e.g. time windows, permit-controlled areas, limited vehicle access) at the time of ordering.
Inspection and Acceptance
You must inspect the Goods at the point of delivery before the delivery team departs. If you notice any visible damage or discrepancy:
- Note it on the delivery paperwork before signing. This is essential for any subsequent claim.
- Photograph the damage with the packaging present where possible.
- Contact us within 48 hours at enquiries@montalvi.com with your order reference and photographs.
Signing the delivery note without noting damage, or failing to notify us within 48 hours of delivery, constitutes acceptance of the Goods in satisfactory condition and may limit your ability to make a subsequent claim.
Returns Policy
Because all Montalvi furniture is made to your individual specification, we are unable to accept returns for change of mind, incorrect measurements provided by the Customer, or where the delivered Goods match the confirmed Specification.
We will accept returns and provide a remedy (repair, replacement, or credit) in the following circumstances only:
- The Goods are materially defective in workmanship or materials (reported within 14 days of delivery).
- The Goods do not conform to the agreed written Specification (reported within 14 days of delivery).
- The Goods are damaged in transit (reported within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence and noted on the delivery paperwork).
Damaged or Faulty Goods
To report a defect or damage, contact us at enquiries@montalvi.com with:
- Your order reference number
- A clear description of the issue
- Photographs showing the defect and, where applicable, the packaging
- A copy of the delivery note (including any annotations)
We aim to respond within 2 business days and propose a remedy within 5 business days of receiving all required information.
Remedies available to us include: in-situ repair by our craftsmen; collection and repair at our facility; replacement of the affected component or unit; or, where repair or replacement is not practical, a partial or full refund at our discretion.
Assembly
Furniture is available either flat-packed (for self-assembly or assembly by your own team) or fully assembled. The assembly method is agreed at the time of order and affects both price and lead time. Assembly instructions are included with flat-pack orders.
If you require on-site assembly by our team, this can be arranged at an additional cost — please discuss this when placing your order.
Care and Maintenance
To keep your Montalvi furniture in the best condition:
- Wipe surfaces with a damp (not wet) cloth. Dry immediately.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods, which may cause colour fading or warping over time.
- Use coasters and protective mats under hot or wet items.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or bleach.
- For oak or walnut pieces, apply a suitable wood oil or wax every 6–12 months to maintain the finish.
- Avoid placing furniture directly over underfloor heating vents or in excessively humid environments.
